feministriots:

What does feminism mean to you?

This is it. This is everything. For anyone who ever wanted to know what feminism means, it’s this. This is the most radical statement anyone could ever make.
Feminism is about being the most authentic version of you, and loving every bit of your authenticity. Fuck conformity, fuck stereotypes, fuck hegemony, fuck kyriarchy, fuck oppression, fuck patriarchy, fuck racism, fuck body oppression, fuck slut shaming, fuck ableism, fuck heterosexism, fuck it all.
We were all born into a hegemonic and oppressive society that, at every corner, on every advertisement, on every piece of media, on every word that slips through our mouths, on every cruel statement that is not questioned, thrives on and on and on and will continue to thrive until we empower and encourage each other to riot against the invisible injustices of our world.
There is so much beauty to be had. We’re missing most of it because society doesn’t tell you to be yourself. It tells you to quell the beauty in you at the expense of those in places of privilege. What they don’t know is that they suffer like the rest of us, just in a much more comfortable way.
For anyone who is wondering why I am a feminist, it is this. Right here.
